About

ABC of… is a growing collection of interactive lessons in programming and mathematics, with more fields on the way. Each lesson starts with a problem, and you discover the idea it needs one step at a time.

It's my attempt at a different way of learning, one I call the Step Method. Working through problems yourself reveals gaps in your understanding and helps you discover why things work the way they do.

It began as a short set of sessions for my team: programming basics, for experienced programmers. The Step Method came out of those sessions, and the same approach carries over to mathematics and to any subject where an idea can be discovered instead of told.

The basics are the most important and most interesting part of any subject, but we usually meet them early, before we're ready to see how deep they go. ABC of… goes back to them, this time up close.
